Youth Served
Wide Angle Youth Media serves Baltimore youth in afterschool programs, at schools, and in the community. Most of our workshops are free for youth, and in our more advanced training programs can be paid a stipend for their participation and work. We are an official Service Learning site for Baltimore City Public Schools, giving youth the opportunity to earn service learning hours as they learn new skills and create media that educates and supports their community.
In 2009 Wide Angle trained more than 500 youth in critical thinking, public speaking, and media production, and shared their stories and messages with more than 9,500 people in the Baltimore Metro area.
Our Baltimore Speaks Out! Program is open to all youth ages 11-15, while our Mentoring Video Project and Youth Festival Committee Programs are for youth ages 15-20. We also partner with community groups and organizations on a regular basis, and would love to come to your neighborhood.
