our best asset: our youth producers

Wide Angle serves more than 500 youth and 10,000 audience members each year. We offer workshops, presentations, and community events for youth in grades 5-12, and their communities of educators, families, and supporters.

Our annual Who Are You? Youth Media Festival gives 250 youth from 10-19 an opportunity to showcase their talents in video, photography, poetry, performance, and fine art in a month-long celebration at CENTERSTAGE. From October-March, workshops are conducted at schools and after school programs –while the 12 Youth Festival Committee members design and curate the festival.

In addition, we partner with community groups, schools, and colleges to conduct trainings and presentation workshops as Special Projects.  In FY2009, Wide Angle has trained over 500 young people, and presented youth media to over 10,500 individuals through community presentations and our Youth Media Festival.
