DEVELOPMENT & COMMUNICATIONS DIRECTOR
Sheila first came to know the staff at Wide Angle Youth Media in 2005, when she shared the office building during her Maryland Institute, College of Art (MICA) internship with the Megaphone Project, a video advocacy organization. Her interest in media-making, education, and the arts in Baltimore were a natural fit with Wide Angle and after she graduated from MICA with a BFA in video, she began working as a media instructor for the organization. From 2008-2012, she took a hiatus from the media arts world to continue her professional development as the Student Housing Coordinator at Johns Hopkins University, where she excelled in project management, student affairs, and studied design, web development, and database management. Over the past decade, she has worked with Wide Angle Youth Media in a multitude of platforms, from the Youth Media Festival Coordinator with the Community Art Corps program, to Program Director. Since her return to the organization in 2012, she has taken on increasing responsibility and leadership and currently serves as the Development and Communications Director. She has a continued passion for providing and supporting media arts education opportunities in Baltimore, public policy, and non-profit administration.
