David Sloan is as a community-based media artist based in Baltimore, MD. He received his MA in Community Arts from the Maryland Institute College of Art in 2008. David’s teaching strategy is rooted in the belief that the self is dialogical and that telling the story of one’s self and one’s community builds a sense of personal agency. As the Production Manager for Wide Angle Youth Media, David facilitates young people in telling their own stories and in producing media for clients who value youth perspectives on issues affecting life in Baltimore City. In his free time, David continues to exhibit his own artwork and to work as a freelance media producer. His work has been shown in venues around the world, ranging from the the Maryland Film Festival to the Gwangju Biennale in South Korea.
