Lisa Twiss

BOARD MEMBER & Marketing and communications committee member

TRAINING AND LEARNING SPECIALIST, BLOOMBERG CENTER FOR PUBLIC INNOVATION, JOHNS HOPKINS UNIVERSITY

For the past 30 years, Lisa has been committed to inspiring and leading meaningful learning and development opportunities for youth and adults alike. She started her career as a Baltimore City Public School teacher, and in that role, she found her passion for Baltimore and the city’s youth. Since then, she earned a Master’s Degree from Johns Hopkins University in Instructional Technology and a Doctorate Degree in Education from Towson University. Her research and practices have primarily focused on the digital divides and opportunity gaps young people from Baltimore City too often face. After 15 years in higher education where she taught hundreds of teachers at three different universities to use equitable and engaging instructional strategies, she spent some time at MICA as the Director of Curriculum Design and Development of Open Studies, and today she leads curriculum development at the Center for Government Excellence (GovEx) at Johns Hopkins University. Currently, she supports the design, development, and delivery of trainings for place-based partnerships, government employees, C-Suite staff, and Mayors from around the world to equitably use data to positively impact the lives of their residents.
